ConstructED is all about trade skills. Whether its archetecture and design, plant driving, brick laying, plumbing, roofing or landscaping, we focus on skills for life. Giving each person the opportunity to discover what areas most inspires them and providing the tools and guidence to see everybody learn and grow.

You don't need to have any previous experience, our programmes make account for those just starting out as well as those with previous knowledge and experience. We focus heavily on best practice and our teams are regularly involved in real world projects.

Trowel occupation skills (Preparing foundations, mixing cement, marking out and laying block and brick to a line, construction techniques, cornering and sills, H&S in the workplace).

Roofing (Roof design, Joist construction, Slate and tile skills, Battening and measurements, Corners and gulleys, Lead-work, Finishing and gutters, H&S in the workplace).

Plastering and rendering skills (Mixing render and plaster, Preparing different surfaces, Scratch coating, Troweling skills, Understanding different plaster and render construction and uses for different projects, H&S in the workplace).

Plumbing skills (Measuring and preparation, Copper and plastic tools and techniques, Routing and problem solving, Understanding common flow considerations and problem solving, Drilling for and securing pipework, Creating hot and cold water systems, H&S in the workplace).

Ground work and landscaping skills (Planning considerations, Creating a design, Measuring and marking out, Safe tool use, Plant operations and maintenance, Material selection, H&S in the workplace).

Fencing and stone walling skills (Stone wall technique, Fence design, Fence construction techniques, Understanding common boundary issues, Fence tensioning and topping, Option of clay oven construction, H&S in the workplace).

Project design and management (Conceptual design, Model making, Material testing, Practice at managing a team, Problem solving skills, Draftsmanship, Seeing a project from design to construction, H&S in the workplace).

Available Qualifications

In-house qualifications: Tool use level 1-4, Basics of H&S in the workplace.

Nationally Accredited qualifications (these qualifications are available subject to confirmation and may incur additional costs):

NOCN Entry Level Certificate in Introduction to Construction (Entry 3).

NOCN Level 1 Award in Basic Construction Skills.

NOCN Level 1 Award in Heath and Safety in a Construction Environment.
